Tanning Convenience With 26 Bulb Tanning Beds

26 bulb tanning beds – if you have been looking around for your options in tanning beds, you may have given thought to purchasing 26 bulb tanning beds. These types of beds represent the ideal middle ground between portable units with only a few bulbs and those monsters that are better suited to commercial salons.

What you have to realize is that the number of bulbs containing your beds is only one factor to take into consideration, and there are many other aspects you would have to take note of besides.

The trend for healthy glowing tans shows no sign of slowing down much less of stopping in spite of the mounting evidence that tanning–and the use of beds for that matter–can open you up to the risk of skin cancer. Nevertheless, a lot of people are still going in for tanning, and as long as you do it responsibly and with a fair bit of restraint, you should be able to get your tan without incurring too much of a health risk.

Among the first things you will have to consider when buying a home tanning bed is the strength of the bulbs and them. The strength is typically measured in watts, for the use in a 26 bulb bed–and practically all tanning beds for that matter–ranging from 100 to 160 W. Generally speaking, a 26 bulb bed fitted with 160 W bulbs will give you a darker tan in a shorter period of time than a similar bed fitted with 100 W bulbs.

Wattage is only one part of the equation however. You’ll also want to find out whether or not your bed come with reflectors. These will help focus the light  better, maximizing their efficiency and thereby giving you a better tan. It is interesting to note that a 100 W bulb that has a reflector will give you more tanning power than a 160 W that doesn’t have one built-in.

Of course you will also have to consider how many are actually contained in your tanning beds. 26 bulb beds obviously have 26 in them, although this doesn’t necessarily mean that they will give you less tanning power than tanning beds with more bulbs in them. Some of the larger tanning beds that you will find in commercial salons may have more than 50, although if they don’t have any reflectors built in, you will still get a better tan much faster with a 26 bulb bed that are fitted with suitable reflectors.

As for the health risks involved in using all types of self tanning devices–26 bulb tanning beds included–you would have to decide for yourself whether to prospect of getting a good tan is worth it. Consider your options carefully and don’t take any more risks than is necessary, and you should be able to use tanning beds safely.
